First Crack Coffee Roasters opened at 412 Foundry Lane, Portland, Oregon, with three lots and a week short enough to write on a wall. The business has not grown out of that shape, and it was never meant to.

The schedule is the product. We roast on Tuesday and Thursday, ship inside 48 hours of the drum, and open the café from Wednesday through Sunday. On Saturday morning the cupping table is set out and anyone can sit down at it. Everything else we could tell you is an elevation, a gram, or a temperature — and those are all published on the beans page.
