About

A quiet room for a loud craft.

First Crack Coffee Roasters has worked out of 412 Foundry Lane in Portland, Oregon since 2019 — a small-batch roastery that treats every coffee like a single exhibit.

We keep the range deliberately short: three origins, bought at altitude, roasted in small drums on set days. The idea is the same one that shapes this whole site — give one good thing enough room and it needs no decoration around it.

The cafe and the roaster share the same floor, so the coffee you drink here was almost certainly roasted a few steps away.

Saturday cupping

A row of cups, and an open table.

Every Saturday we set the counter with the week's coffees and taste through them in the open. Pull up a stool, take a spoon, and taste what light, medium, and dark do to the same idea. It is free, and there is nothing to book.
