First Crack Coffee Roasters started in 2019, in a rented bay on Foundry Lane, with one drum roaster, a set of scales and a notebook. The notebook is now a wall of batch cards. The machine is still the same machine.
We roast on Tuesdays and Thursdays and ship what comes off the drum. There is no warehouse and no back stock, so the schedule is not a detail of the business — the schedule is the business.
