First Crack started with a single drum roaster on Foundry Lane and a simple rule: buy fewer coffees, learn them deeply, and write down everything. We still roast in small batches, log every profile, and let the beans ship the week they come off the cooling tray.
The name is the moment a roast turns audible — the first crack — the instant green coffee becomes coffee. It is where our attention goes, every batch.

We roast twice a week, and ship it fresh.
Roasting lands on Tuesday and Thursday. Whatever comes off the drum ships within 48 hours, so it reaches you while it is still at its brightest.
